Description
1950 Hudson Pacesetter 4 door Sedan VIN 5001533 232 cu. in. Inline 6 cylinder engine with manual transmission. Overall in nice, 'survivor driver" condition. A quick inspection of the underbody indicated frame and trunk pans in overall good condition. Hudson Pacemaker, which is the entry level model, and biggest seller. To be fair, it is nicely appointed for a car of this era, and does not look "entry level". It has a definite WOW! factor in it's current deep red color. I believe that the car was originally a turquoise color, which can be seen peeking out of the molding over the driver door. I do not see any original Hudson color for this year which is similar, however, the current color is non-metallic, and doesn't look out of place in my opinion. The subject car shows the evidence of much care and use- which, over the years has taken a toll, as clearly visible in some of the "detail" photos. The interior however, is in remarkable condition. Very light wear and soiling of the front carpet, and a slightly odd fabric cover glued to the top of the dash. Horn button is off, but present. Steering wheel has cracks in the center. Cloth door seal over driver's door is frayed-but all in all quite presentable. Exterior would benefit from a trip to a good detailer- scuffs and scratches could be mitigated. There’s a fair amount of small rust bubbles low on the left quarter panel. Something that should be addressed in the future. The subject car looks to have received what I would term a serious refurbishment years ago- as opposed to an actual full restoration. The overspray tells the tale. I went over the car’s exterior painted surfaces thoroughly with a magnet in a sock (so as not to risk a scratch.) I did not find an area where the magnet didn't stick, but along the bottom of the left quarter panel it didn't grab as hard, causing me believe that there is some thin bondo in that area. Inspite of its flaws, this would be a nice "Cars & Coffee Cruiser, in my opinion. It appears mechanically sound. (Oil & Coolant look good). The tires have lots of tread- and lots of age, and are in need of replacement. Clean WA state title. Sale included Fender Skirts, owner's and service manuals and a folder of receipts.
