Description
Auto Storica is pleased to announce this Bentley MKVI 4 ¼ liter by Pursang.
Few independent coachbuilders survive today. Mass production, cost savings and increasingly stringent safety regulations have led to the disappearance of metal craftsmen.
But not many years ago, the enthusiast who wanted to stand out with a unique car had several options at his disposal. Coachbuilders such as Ghia, Vignale, Frua,… created special vehicles at the request of the client. Models desired by everyone, which became a whim, encouraged by the aura of exclusivity
A process of customization that PurSang wanted to recover with its parts. This Argentine bodywork company brings back the pleasure of enjoying unique vehicles. Dream cars for a privileged few looking to enjoy a work of art like no other
Its name is no coincidence, as its first jobs consisted of making replicas of Bugatti Type 35s, so precise and of such quality that they are the only ones in the world with the approval of the Molsheim manufacturer
But they also decided to let their imagination fly, and create unique models based on other bases, such as the Bentley MKVI 4 ¼ litres that they used to create this One-Off that they called Bentley Special.
They stripped the body of its original chassis to create a coupe with a brutalist design, compact and curved lines that evoke the post-war racing vehicles that led the world's circuits. A body made entirely of aluminum of unparalleled beauty, completely handcrafted, painted in a dark green, evoking the British Racing Green of English cars
Under its enormous hood lies Bentley's 4 ¼ litre inline 6-cylinder engine, which with new improvements, such as three double Webber 45 carburettors, delivers close to 200 hp, expelled like thunder through the enormous rear exhaust, emitting a deafening sound that fills the interior, immersing us in a bygone atmosphere, where racing tasted better
There are few truly exclusive classics in the world. But unique? Don't miss the opportunity to keep a very special piece in your garage
