EQUIPMENT
Arctic Blue metallic paintwork, Saville Grey leather upholstery, 5. 3-litre V12 engine, 3-speed automatic transmission, Air conditioning, Electric windows, Electric door mirrors, Heated front seats with lumbar support, Lockable glovebox, Glove compartment mirror, Cruise control, Driver and passenger ashtrays, Kenwood CD player, Spare wheel, Tool kit.
EXTERIOR
The Arctic Blue paintwork remains in good order with the correct two-tone pinstripes still present along both sides. The car was imported from Japan by us in 2016 and so for its first 25 years it didn’t see a salted road. It has resided with the same private owner since then and we’re pleased to report that the underside still presents in good solid condition. All the brightwork has a lovely mirror shine, the bumper rubbers are free from any major wear, and at the front end there are almost no stone chips to report. All in all, a very useable low mileage example in an interesting colour combination, ready to be driven and enjoyed.
INTERIOR
The interior space is well appointed with Saville Grey leather and walnut trim, all in great original condition. The hide upholstery has never been re-connolised and so it remains feeling soft and supple, with commonly worn areas such as the driver’s bolster in good order. The rear seats are excellent and the headlining is free from any sagging issues. The air conditioning also blows nice and cold after a pressure test and re-gas at the current mileage. In the boot you’ll find the full-size spare wheel and Jaguar tool kit.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
With only 51k miles (82k kilometres) under its belt the car drives very well indeed. A full mechanical inspection has just been carried out by our trusted classic car workshop with other recent notable works including a new steering rack, 4-wheel alignment, injector rebuild, and various engine works costing many thousands of pounds. Under the bonnet the engine bay is tidy, not overly dressed to a show standard but in good original condition having received plenty of mechanical attention over the last few years.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in February 1991, this is one of the last pre-facelift XJS’s produced. When it was imported in late 2016 it was found to be in excellent rust-free condition having spent all its life on the salt-free roads of Japan. The car has since been enjoyed by only 1 private owner and is now offered for sale for the first time in 8 years. There is no history prior to the car’s UK arrival but invoices in the paperwork from 2016 onwards total just shy of £23k.
