Beautiful Fiat 509A Torpedo, four-door convertible, a rarely offered Italian pre-war classic! The car has been in the possession of a classic car club executive in Luxembourg for the last twenty years. It is an older restoration. However, the condition of the car is still very nice. There are no rust problems whatsoever. The paintwork is still very nice. The interior is undamaged. The Fiat runs and drives superbly. The spare parts supply for this model is quite good. The 509 model, presented at the 1924 Paris Motor Show, was a milestone for the Fiat Group. With over 90, 000 units produced, it was the first large-series Fiat ever and paved the way for other Volkswagen models such as the Balilla, Topolino etc. in Italy. The Fiat 509 was particularly impressive due to its top-class technology and excellent handling. The small four-cylinder engine had an overhead camshaft. This fine design was a sensation for a series-produced car in 1924 and was more familiar from sports cars. The body design, with its angular radiator front and low, stretched waistline, was reminiscent of progressive contemporaries such as the Lancia Lambda. The 509s came from the famous "Lingotto" plant in Turin. This production facility was the largest and most advanced of its time and had a one kilometre long test track as a circuit on the roof. The finished vehicles could thus be driven onto the roof directly after production and completed test laps. Sold on behalf of the customer. The car comes with Luxembourg vehicle documents and a folder with literature (manual, technical articles). Viewing is possible by appointment.
