Just arrived back with us at RFH Classics is this charming 1968 (G) MGB GT finished in the ever popular Damask Red and complete with its newly refurbished Black Leather interior. This original chrome bumper example was sold by us 18 months ago and we are delighted to offer it once again to the market.
Benefiting from an older restoration, this GT still presents beautifully with its deep and glossy shine to the bodywork that highlights its classic lines. The chrome remains in excellent condition, complementing the recently refurbished wire wheels which have been powder-coated for durability and ease of maintenance.
Many enthusiasts may not realize that the MGB GT was originally designed by Pininfarina, which explains its enduring appeal and stylish silhouette. Inside, the original Dimple-style vinyl seats have been modernised with Black Leather which only helps contribute to the car’s period charm. The rest of the interior features well preserved carpets and trim making this a truly inviting place to be.
Under the bonnet the 1798cc lead-free petrol engine fires up eagerly, delivering strong performance with excellent oil pressure both hot and cold. The engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox featuring the highly desirable Overdrive, which we can confirm is operating correctly, making longer journeys effortless. The engine bay presents very well, in keeping with the overall condition of the car.
In the office, we have a history file, including MOT records dating back to 1990, which suggest the displayed mileage may be accurate, although, as with any classic of this age, we are unable to guarantee this. This is a well presented and well maintained example of this iconic British classic that is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
