The MGB, a classic British sports car, was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) from 1962 to 1980, and it quickly gained popularity and became an iconic symbol of British automotive design. It succeeded the MGA and was available in various body styles, including roadster (B) and coupe (B GT).
We are pleased to offer this 1974 MGB GT in vibrant red with a black cloth interior and period Webasto sunroof. First registered in February 1974, this particular example has been subject to a restoration previously (pics on file) which has held up well – the paint would appear to have a deep shine and it contrasts nicely with the black cloth interior. Importantly, the seams on the wing tops are in good order. The exterior look is completed by a set of refurbished Rostyles and period silver and black registration plates.
Chrome work is a little marked in places, and the chrome grille boasts MG Owners Club and RAC badges.
The interior would appear to be largely original – the black ribbed seat material appears in good condition. The stereo would appear to be period, but non standard. There is a small box of parts in the boot.
Under the bonnet, the engine bay is clean and tidy.
In addition to the V5, we have a few invoices for expenditure over the last few years plus handbook, plus MG magazines.
MGB / GTs make an ideal introduction for the first-time classic owner or an easy to maintain, sunny day car for the enthusiast. Don’t miss out on this lovely example.
