1933 Riley Nine Lynx – Disappearing hood model
The replacement for the ‘Plus-Ultra’ four-seat touring version of the Riley Nine debuted at the 1932 Motor Show, designated ‘Lynx’. As with many Rileys, Lynxes were popular with sporting motorists and a number saw action in rallies and reliability trials.
Arguably the prettiest of the touring Riley Nines, the two door Lynx was produced for the 1933 Season only. With its 'disappearing' hood, which folded neatly away under a metal tonneau, the car had clean and rakish sporting lines.
This Riley is of particularly attractive appearance being finished in pale primrose and black with red leather upholstery.
In the present ownership for 24 years, she has been meticulously cared for and has benefitted from considerable expenditure and time, resulting in a thoroughly well sorted car with a particularly sweet running engine.
We have a detailed list of the work carried out on the car by the present owner. The weather equipment is all in good order and the hood has benefited from treatment with ‘Renovo’ proofer.
All brightwork is in excellent order and the car sits on recently renewed Blockley tyres all round.
Certainly, one of the best of this desirable model we have seen for some while.
