Description
1964 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 - Phase 2 - matching numbers, 77k total miles warranted from new.
Presented here to you, is an exceptionally good example of Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 Phase 2 that has come from long term ownership (25 years) and is now offered For Sale due to past owners deteriorating health and age. A very well looked after and cherished car, dry stored and never driven in wet weather. Built in 1964, this car was exported and repatriated to the UK in 1991 when it was first registered here in the UK. One previous owner on the log book until 2003 when it was bought for the last owner as a 60th birthday present from his wife!
In the last 7 years, this car has only covered 100 miles. Unbelievable but true! Given the last owners health, the car has not been used. Always MOTd until 2018. This car is finished in the rare colour combination of Black over Ivory with 72 spoke Chrome wire wheels and Black interior. To compliment the car, a Mohair roof was installed, enhancing the already sophisticated colour and superb body lines of this car. This car has a four speed gearbox with working overdrive. All buttons and switches work perfectly and are all period correct.
Recent works to the car were in 2024 where the brake servo was replaced together with brake wheel cylinders and also water pump. A full service and inspection to be completed and the car will come with a new MOT. Although exempt, this is done to ensure the car is 100%. Panel gaps or shut lines are very good. Tyres are in good order. Mohair roof is like new and has a zip rear window.
The Austin-Healey 3000 is a British sports car built from 1959 until 1967. It is the best known of the "big Healey" models. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at BMC's MG Works in Abingdon, alongside the corporation's MG models. During its production life, the car changed from an open sports car, albeit with a child-transporting 2+2 option, to a sports convertible. In 1963, 91. 5 percent of all Austin-Healey 3000 cars were exported; mostly to North America. The 3-litre 3000 was a highly successful car, which won its class in many European rallies in its heyday and is still raced in classic car competitions by enthusiasts today.
A truly superb looking car that is admired wherever it goes! Certainly one to add to a collection or one to own and drive on fine warm sunny days!
