Description
The Rolls-Royce Twenty was Rolls-Royce's "small car", produced from 1922 to 1929 alongside the 40/ 50 Silver Ghost and the successor to the 40/ 50, the Phantom. It was intended to appeal to owner-drivers but many were sold to customers with chauffeurs.
Chassis number GAJ38 has a Barker Limousine Body and was first registered on 29/ 07/ 1927, when it was sold to a Miss Swan of London.
The engine is very sweet and starts straight up with very little effort. It is running well and sounds great with no frost damage and as well as all fluids in the correct places.
The drive train is in excellent order and there are no nasty noises. As you would expect from a Rolls Royce it drives very well, fitted with 4 wheel brakes it stops as it should and the gear change is smooth.
The car is in genuine oily rag condition - the body is in great shape and the woodwork is perfect. As expected with this type of car is it full of character, battle scares and all, and if you like to be able to use your cars then this one is for you!
The interior is wonderfully original, other than the rear seat which has been re trimmed at some point in matching material. It is also fitted with rear occasional seats and a rear speedometer.
As you can see from the pictures, the 20HP has been very well looked after throughout its life and it has stood the test of time. More recently the car benefits from indicators and a LED light conversion, both of which have been subtly fitted.
Car is complete with some paperwork and history including the current V5.
