Description
HERE is my 1954 Riley RME 1. 5 in dark green, and what a gem she is. This a later revised version of the RME and, as such, has no running boards and a different look to the front. She has had just five former keepers and is in super condition for a 70-year-old car. Solid as well as pretty on the paint, she also has a delightful period interior with what appear to be original green leather seats (What a superb smell as soon as you open the door!), great dash and super cloth head lining. She in on the button and shows excellent oil pressure. Please take a look at my close up of the car's dashboard clocks and you will not that with no revs whatsoever and the car nicely warmed up, the oil pressure gauge is just under the 50 psi mark at idle. The ignition light is showing, proving that I am not sitting in the old girl with my foot flat to the floor on the throttle! A lovely driver, her last MoT expired in 2013 but when you call up the history, you will note that no structural issues showed up either then or during the previous decade. The brake pedal has a long travel but brakes are there and could probably do with pulling up a bit.
