We are offering this 1968 Triumph TR5 PI for sale. The car is in beautiful condition and has a full service history dating back to 1988! We have in fact retraced the car's history over the last 36 years, which gives us some perspective on the general condition of its mechanicals.
Its period paintwork has a beautiful patina, and all the chromework is fine with no notable defects.
The interior is also in good condition, with an invoice dated April 1995 indicating that it had been repaired by a saddler.
The 4 chromed wire wheels and spare wheel were replaced a few years ago and are fitted with new Michelin XAS tyres. Mechanically, this Triumph TR5 runs perfectly, starting without difficulty both hot and cold, and the engine revs smoothly. The gearbox shifts smoothly, and the overdrive (optional) is functional and kicks in without delay. It drives and brakes in a straight line.
The last owner purchased the car in February 2021 and the following month took it to a specialist garage to have a number of mechanical items such as the ignition, fuel injection, brakes, suspension, etc. upgraded. He also had the clutch system replaced. Its general condition and history make this TR5 a desirable example.
