Description
This GT1800 was supplied by GS Cars of Bristol to Mr. E. H. P. Tucker who was the M. D. of The Hevitree Brewery in Exeter on 2nd March 1964. He kept the car until 1967 when he part exchanged it with GS Cars for a latter 'C' chassis spec Gilbern GT.
The car was subject to a full restoration between 1999/ 2001, since then the car has not covered many miles, but was serviced regularly. Unfortunately the paint on the front end of the car reacted, and the previous owner thought he could fix it with filler and an aerosol!
During my ownership I have had some rusty sections of the chassis replaced by a Gilbern chassis specialist and sorted out some lighting and running issues.
The car is fitted with electronic ignition so the rev counter needs to be re-wired, all other gauges work. The engine is the later 5 bearing 18V MGB engine which has good oil pressure and pulls really well.
This car would suit somebody who wants a car to use, but can improve it without taking it off the road, it is being used currently by myself to attend club events.
