Description
The 1929 Raliegh model 23 is a single cylinder 496cc OHV twin port motorcycle. This one is in need of some attention. The engine starts and runs reasonaby well, it selects all 3 gears and the clutch feels good.
There is a lot of history with this bike, all the way back to the dealer who sold it new.
There are a few parts which are not correct for this model. The rear hub and brake plate are not Raleigh, the Silencers are not right, and the mudguards appear to be from a BSA. The mag/ dyno, a Lucas MO1, ia a later version than was fitted to a 1929 model 23, the inverted levers are not Raleigh and there is no speedo fitted into the tank strap. The Mag/ Dyno has been rebuilt as have the forks.
The registration number is original and still on the DVLA system, there is a blue V5.
