Description

If you're looking for the best of the best, then this is an MGB Roadster worth serious consideration. Almost £50, 000 and the most magnificent bare shell, nut and bolt rebuild has gone into this car, and it is quite simply exquisite. Since completion in 2023 only 900 miles have been covered, and the car is truly magnificent. The level of workmanship throughout the rebuild has been exceptional and is detailed by many photos included in the history that comes with the car. Further to this, the MG spent most of its life with one owner from new, something we see rarely with MGB’s.

KUB 911L was first registered on the 1st of October 1972 and the original MG Passport to Service shows it was supplied new by Appleyard of Leeds to local estate agents in Ilkley. By 1983 the mileage had ticked over to 39, 884 with its first owner, and a further 3000 miles were covered prior to the restoration. The comprehensive history file contains a good amount of early paperwork such as MOT certificates from the Eighties and Nineties, and service invoices from the Rover Dealer, Station Garage of Ilkley in 1992 and 1996. The flash drive in the file contains the exemplary restoration work carried out by Revival Vehicle Restorations of Kettering, where the bodywork was stripped back to bare metal and the paintwork was carried out to an extremely high level leaving a stunning paint finish. The interior was fully renewed and fitted with some impressive Tan seats which complement the wood dash, wood-rim steering wheel and high quality carpet set. The MG was also later fitted with a high quality mohair hood and chrome boot rack.

The quality is outstanding throughout this car, the body-colour underside is pristine, the general finish of the car excellent and on the road this MGB is outstanding. The rebuilt engine performs perfectly, as does the gearbox and overdrive, the handling is first class and the car offers a high quality driving experience. The steering is sharp and responsive as expected with a new steering rack, all the brakes, suspension, and electrics are as new, and the car is quite simply ready to enjoy having completed its running in miles. This is a special car, its history is lovely, but the real selling point is that it would cost over £50, 000 to purchase an MGB today and rebuild it to this standard. KUB 911L is for the uncompromising buyer as its superb presentation and mechanical performance offers simply the best MGB experience money can buy.
