‘N162YMS’ is a sublime looking Aston Martin DB7 emanating from the marque during Ford ownership and produced in a dedicated factory in Bloxham, Oxfordshire. Its chassis number reveals it to be the 701st car built of a total of 2, 702 to leave Bloxham. ‘N162YMS’ was first registered in February 1996 and was specified in the most desirable five speed manual configuration. With around 81, 000 miles covered to date, ‘N162YMS’ comes with a thorough 24 stamp service history. The last service was performed just a few hundred miles ago at 80, 771 miles in July 2023. ‘N162YMS’ has reportedly wanted for nothing with thousands of pounds spent on maintenance. This work has included a new exhaust system, lower and upper wishbones, rear trailing arms, four new shock absorbers, oil cooler and pipes and new fuel injectors. Unsurprisingly then, it is reported that ‘N162YMS’ starts on the button and is the consummate cruiser. ‘N162YMS’ comes with the original book pack and a wealth of supporting paperwork. The current MOT is valid until July 2025.
‘N162YMS’ has esteemed designer Ian Callum to thank for its film star looks. Originally slated as a possible Jaguar XJS successor, Ford earmarked the superb design as a more prestigious Aston Martin model, however. ‘N162YMS’ is the last word in sophistication and elegance without neglecting the marque’s unparalleled sporting heritage. The Silver Metallic livery suits the car’s muscular shape perfectly and combines with the deep dish, turbine style alloy wheels to create something undeniably special. Those handsome wheels wear a matching set of Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 tyres fitted less than 1, 000 miles ago. The vendor notes a few minor stone chips but rates both body and paintwork as “good.”
The interior is as luxurious as it is sporting featuring the earlier, pre-airbag wood rimed Aston Martin steering wheel fitted. The upholstery is courtesy of grey, piped leather and the sometimes troublesome headlining is noted as tightly fitted with no sagging. ‘N162YMS’ is fitted with the muscular AJ6 supercharged inline six cylinder engine which originally produced 335bhp. This is mated to the Getrag 290 five speed manual gearbox. This configuration would give the DB7 an 165mph top speed and a 0-60mph time of under six seconds. The vendor judges all aspects of ‘N162YMS’ to be “good” and additionally notes that it is solid underneath with no visible rust to the pillars.
