EXTERIOR
This is one of only 114 ZT-T 260 SEs built. A rare and clearly cherished example in timeless Starlight Silver metallic, the car has driven just 30k miles from new. In line with the low mileage, the paintwork is beautifully presented with only a handful of minor imperfections evidencing the car’s honesty. It’s arrow-straight along both sides with even shut lines, the Xenon headlights are crystal clear, and none of the trims or seals are perished. Filling the arches are 18-inch Gridspoke alloy wheels in first-rate condition with matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres all round.

INTERIOR
The sumptuous cream leather has aged well with only some expected light surface wear on the driver’s bolster to note. As part of the top SE specification the seats are heated and fully electric with memory settings for the driver. Contrasting black leather adorns the steering wheel, gear shift and hand brake, all in excellent condition. Glancing across the dash all the plastics are in superb order with no notable marking or scratches. A convenient touchscreen multimedia system is fitted in place of the original head unit, and in the footwells you’ll find a very clean set of MG overmats. The rear seats are in equally fine condition and the vast boot area is still readily equipped with the original load cover and dog guard.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4. 6-litre Mustang V8 delivers 260hp with a mighty 410Nm of torque, and of course it sounds fantastic through the original quad pipes. Provoke the throttle from standstill and sixty can be achieved in a hot hatch-rivalling 6. 3 seconds – not bad for a practical family estate car! Power is transferred to the rear wheels via 5-speed manual gearbox and Hydratrak limited slip-diff.

Under the bonnet you’ll find a clean original engine bay with no signs of accident damage or previous poor repair. The last service was carried out in 2024 at 29, 800 miles and most recently, in January this year, the car has been fully checked over and MOT’d, so she’s ready to be driven and enjoyed.

HISTORY FILE
This handsome example rolled off the production line in March 2004. Quite interestingly, it was retained unregistered by the MG Rover Group for its first ten months, and then for a further seven months after first registration. Now with a remarkable 30, 430 miles under its belt the car is offered for sale with five additional keepers including two long term collector owners. Within the accompanying History File the next custodian will receive the original MG document wallet, an original ZT 260 V8 original sales brochure, a raft of invoices and MOT certificates verifying the car’s low mileage, previous registration documents and the current V5 showing only 5 former keepers.
