The Bentley Continental GT debuted in 2002 to become the first model launched under Volkswagen’s stewardship. As such the Continental GT was a statement of intent and a dramatic watershed for the marque. ‘MT54WFR’ showcases all the myriad qualities that impressed so many at the time. An early example from the second year of production, ‘MT54WFR’ is offered with an eminently sensible original mileage of around 65, 000 miles. The vendor reports that ‘MT54WFR’ runs perfectly and offers a full service history. This includes two gearbox services, one of which was this year, as well as all boost and oil pipes having been replaced by a Bentley specialist. ‘MT54WFR’ comes with numerous expensive options, the original Bentley trickle charger, car cover and an advisory free MOT until July this year. ‘MT54WFR’ presents in standard, first generation factory trim and in the popular Silver Tempest colourway. The Dirk Van Braeckel design expertly combined traditional Bentley DNA with something very different and contemporary. The big, muscular haunches, oversized quad headlamps and matrix grill combine to deliver one of the most recognisable shapes in modern automotive design. With an original retail price of over £100, 000 the Continental GT is an exquisitely appointed and equipped car. ‘MT54WFR’ is especially so with a number of high-cost optional extras originally specified.
