RENAULT 12 GORDINI GROUP 2 1974 R1173 VHRS- VHC PTH of 05/ 06/ 2020 PASSEPORTEFIVA of 16/ 12/ 2019 Participated in Tour Auto, Rallye de Monte Carlo and Tour de Corse historique. Completely rebuilt and prepared by Ets MURATET in 2019 in accordance with the specifications set at the time by the Renault Gordini competition department for homologation in Group 2. A car that has been owned by the same owner between 1984 and 2019. Previously registered in the 46 region of France, the car's registration document dates back to 1982, suggesting that it has had 3 owners. The bodywork has been completely restored.
As the vehicle was intended for competition use, the body was stripped bare in order to adapt all the reinforcements and specifications for Group 2 homologation. The roll cage to current standards was manufactured by specialist Jacques Point, and a very high quality white paint was applied. The car is in good condition. The windows are fairly well aligned. It is fitted with 'GOTTI' light-alloy wheels (not sheet metal as standard), genuine original accessories for Group 2.

Inside the cabin, you'll find all the specific features of a Group 2:
- Multi-point roll bar - Safety harness - Bucket seat - Internal and external circuit breaker - FIA-standard automatic fire extinguisher - Addition of pressure gauges on the original dashboard - R12 Break fuel tank with a smaller capacity (change approved by the competition department) - Double electric fuel pumps in the boot - Cadens and radio system (not sold with the car). Mechanically, the preparation that has been carried out follows the "RENAULT GORDINI 160 bhp Transformation" recommendations.
The type 807. 20 125 hp engine was prepared by specialist MURATET to the specifications of the original 807-G 1596 cm3 kit, including preparation of the cylinder head and engine block: rectification of the valve seats after modification of the valves, modification of the combustion chamber, resurfacing of the cylinder head, replacement of the timing kit, installation of forged pistons and connecting rods.
Light-alloy cylinder head covers, exhaust manifolds and horns on the WEBER45 twin-bodies are visible. A DMT gearbox with dog clutches has recently been fitted to replace the original 5-speed gearbox. The front and rear axles have also been revised. The suspension wishbones have been strengthened in accordance with the plan supplied by Gordini. The adjustable tie rods are specific to the Group 2 version. The front and rear shock absorbers have been made specifically for rallying by the specialist SAUBEN. The complete braking system has been overhauled and equipped for rallying (Lorraine carbon type). A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted. The wiring harness has been completely redone.

An expert appraisal was carried out to assess the quality of the restoration and the Group 2 preparation for competition in compliance with the original regulations. The car was found to meet the specifications with a maximum of authentic parts, which is quite rare. A car cut out for racing, ready to run and eligible for all VHC - VHRS rallies.
