This magnificent Megane is a real Renault rarity. It is number 14 out of just 30 cars, produced to celebrate Renault and Red Bull Racing’s third Formula 1 Constructors’ world title. Officially named the Megane Renaultsport Red Bull Racing RB8, it is finished in an exclusive Twilight Blue paint finish, complete with Platinum Grey detailing for features incuding the distinctive front ‘F1 blade’. The paint was inspired by the Red Bull F1 racers, with further graphics at the rear and side to underline the connection. There’s also a monochrome laurel on the rear side windows to formally mark the 2012 Constructors’ world title.
The vendor confirms that the desirable Red Bull-themed ‘RB08MEG’ is included in the sale. The car has an extensive and complete history, including paperwork dating back to when it was new. “It’s all stored in a large time-ordered folder”. Coming complete with two keys, the vendor fitted new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres in April 2024, and it was fully serviced in August 2024. The odometer reads around 80, 000 miles.
‘RB08MEG’ has the drive to back up its F1 connections, too. It was derived from the highly acclaimed Megane Renaultsport 265 Cup, with stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bar, a limited-slip differential, grooved discs with red Brembo front calipers and a potent 2. 0-litre 265hp engine. Its performance can be monitored through a 7. 0-inch Renault R-Link telemetry display, which offers GPS-tracked lap timing, 0-62mph times, a G-force diagram and more. This display even features a special Red Bull Racing home page. The interior also features Recaro seats and Red Bull Racing emblems on the seat backrests, floor mats and aluminium kickplates – which also carry individual numbering.
