This stunning 1998 Jaguar XK8 is a fabulous example in metallic blue with cream leather interior. A former show car with bodywork, paintwork and interior described as all being in ‘excellent’ condition, it is a credit to the vendor and is being offered at No Reserve. Intriguingly, they describe it as having featured in a Sky documentary, and confirmed the desirable private plate is included in the sale. Also included are rare goodies such as a Jaguar umbrella, XK8 pen, dust cover and outdoor cover, along with a Jaguar first aid kit and a collection of magazines.
‘R8VXK’ has an upgraded Adamesh Stage 1 stainless steel exhaust system, and the vendor has the original back boxes if required. They say this 155mph coupe has only done around 5, 000 miles in the past 10 years, with the odometer reading 138, 000 miles. The standard specification is high, with Harman Kardon sound system, burr walnut dashboard, climate control and cruise control – indeed, when new, it had £7, 000 of factory-fit extras. 20-inch Sepang alloy wheels and uprated Brembo brakes are also desirable. There’s even an original Motorola carphone; all it needs is a new SIM. Keen collectors will be pleased to hear the original registration plates are included – and will be delighted to hear the previous owner had the headlining replaced. Overall, the vendor says this Jaguar XK8 has diligently been kept in showroom condition.
The Jaguar XK8, known by marque aficionados as X100, was introduced in 1996 to revive the storied XK series. It was offered as a two-door coupe or convertible, powered by the all-new Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. Intriguingly, the architecture was derived from the Jaguar XJ-S and was related to the Aston Martin DB7 – both cars were based on a 1980s concept that never reached production. The beautiful styling referenced the original Jaguar E-type with a long bonnet and graceful lines, while the enchanting interior was a luxurious haven that reflected Jaguar’s range-topping aspirations for its new grand tourer. The model range was further developed with a high-performance supercharged Jaguar XKR version, and was later updated with an enlarged 4. 2-litre engine.
