EXTERIOR
Presented in classic Carrara White this GT3 looks every part the motorsport special with its large fixed rear wing and aerodynamic bumpers. The design is complimented by plenty of large cooling vents and ducting; all of course for a functional purpose.
A UK supplied car from new the car retains all of its factory original paint and presents in near perfect condition with only a few small stone chips in keeping with road use.
INTERIOR
The interior of this comfort spec 997. 2 is a balance of race car tech with styling comforts; blending an extreme drivers car for predominant use on the road. The GT3 is renowned as quite possibly the peak of perfection for enthusiastic driving with an incredible level of power, grip and involvement at manageable speeds on the roads today.
Hard backed sports seats are trimmed in soft black leather neatly stitched with alcantara inserts that show in quite excellent original condition, while a Touch screen PCM / Bluetooth and a front axle lift offer day-to-day considerations to ensure all bases are covered.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Increased to 3. 8L in the 997. 2, this mighty Metzger Flat 6 sees an increase in power over the first generation car and now produces a phenomenal 435 bhp. 0-60 takes just 4. 1 seconds whilst top speed has increased marginally to 196mph.
Most noticeable however is the mid-range torque in the higher capacity engine, providing a surge as the revs rise and that formidable flat-6 howl builds to a crescendo at a staggering 8, 400 rpm.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The lightweight centrelock alloys are unmarked wrapped in Pirelli P Zero – N rated tyres that show plenty of tread depth.
Porsche in-scripted Red Brembo calipers clamp drilled steel brake discs and are in excellent order all round.
HISTORY FILE
Initially sold in October of 2009 by Kendal Porsche, this Gen 2 car was sold to its second owner in May of 2010.
With the owner based overseas the car remained in professional storage up until 2016 before the OPC carried out both recall and workshop campaigns. After occasional use by the second owner, the car was then collected and returned to storage from 2018 until 2022 before a 111 point check including a major service was carried out later that year by OPC Brooklands.
In 2023 Brooklands would go on to check the front lift system and carry out a 4 wheel alignment before replacing both rear wheel bearings and an ABS sensor. The last service, a minor, was carried out by the same dealer in September 2024 at 8, 292 miles.
This car comes complete with a clean rev range report showing no over revs in any of the 6 readings.
