Lot details
Rare original MkII Mini Shell built between 1967-69
Finished in Tartan Red with Black roof
Will require some new panels and fabrication
No paperwork or chassis tags are supplied
The shell has mounts for opening rear windows and a hole for remote change gearbox suggesting it is either a Mini 1000 or Mini Cooper shell.
Offered here is a rare, original Mini Mk II shell, widely regarded as the most sought-after shell due to its two-year production run. Although we cannot confirm the identity of this shell, telltale signs such as mounts for the rear-opening windows, a hole for the remote change gearbox, and remnants of old Red trim suggest that it was either a Mini 1000 or a Morris Mini Cooper.
The shell will require some new panels and fabrication for competition and isn’t supplied with chassis tags, paperwork, mechanicals or auxiliary parts. It is a rare opportunity to acquire a rare shell that needs a little TLC, rather than forking out £15, 000 for a new heritage shell.
