This beautiful Austin Healey was built and despatched to the USA in May 1964 and was originally specified with wire wheels and overdrive. Imported to the UK in 2022 by the current vendor who commissioned an extensive restoration shortly after. The restoration was completed by specialists Amazing Autos Ltd in South Wales who left no stone unturned. The body and chassis were completely stripped to bare metal and repairs were undertaken before the thorough respray began. During this time the mechanicals were all thoroughly stripped including the engine which had an extensive rebuild. The decision was made to return the car to the vendors desirable specification choosing to convert the car to right hand drive and finishing the Healey in Sage green coachwork over a cream leather interior with green piping.
In excellent condition throughout the quality of the restoration speaks for itself. The paintwork is superb and the engine bay and interior are in fantastic order. The underside is very clean as one would expect following such work. The Healey runs and drives very well indeed starting first time and sounding fantastic when on song. The overdrive works well and the engine is smooth, and the radiator benefits from a retro fitted electronic fan and insures the car runs smoothly in modern day traffic. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing the comprehensive restoration, many bills and invoices totalling over £50, 000, many pictures of the restoration and full engine rebuild, as well as its heritage certificate and the current UK registration document. This is one of the best examples we have seen and is ready to be enjoyed immediately by its new owner.
