Capitalizing on its image as a bespoke automobile manufacturer, the Rolls-Royce group launched a series of limited-edition variations around the "Modern Blower Bentley" theme in the 1990s. One of its most remarkable creations based on the Turbo R saloon was the Turbo RT Mulliner, unveiled in July 1997. Built on the long-wheelbase chassis of the Turbo RL (previously optional), the Turbo RT featured the 400 bhp engine from the Continental T coupe. It was distinguished by a mesh grille and wraparound body-colored bumpers with mesh inserts.
The Mulliner version, even rarer and more expensive, was designed exclusively to special order. It boasted 420 bhp, a widened body, and an almost limitless range of options. Produced only in 1997 and 1998, the Turbo RT Mulliner was limited to just 55 units, 39 of which were left-hand drive, like the model presented here.
This particular example's bespoke specification includes a dark green exterior, beige leather upholstery, black carpets with matching lambswool rugs, a walnut burr dashboard and trim, and rear wooden picnic tables. Other distinctive features include a speedometer mounted at the rear of the central console and functional air vents on the hood and front wings.
Originally delivered in Switzerland and a one-owner vehicle, this example is in exceptional condition with only 71, 450 km on the odometer. It comes with an extensive service history.
Please note this lot will be subject to additional VAT on the hammer price.
