"This splendid one-of-a-kind piece can be considered the final result of the evolutionary line of the Mondial and Morini single-cylinder racing engines." - Massimo Clarke, Moto d'Epoca, December 1995.
At the request of fishing reels manufacturer Officine Meccaniche Rossetti (OFMER), Mondial's chief mechanic Nerio Biavati extensively modified a tiny handful of Mondial roadsters, one being the unique creation offered here. Biavati built these motorcycles for Giancarlo Rossetti, OFMER's owner, whose premature death brought the project to a halt. Claimed to be unique, the machine was purchased at an auction in 1990. Accompanying documentation consists of some technical drawings and some Italian magazines featuring articles about Nerio Biavati and OFMER.
As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/ where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
