We are very pleased to bring to market this very individual Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 which was built in 1975 to market. This is a variation of the vehicle that Top Gear used in one of their shows when driving around Bolivia, however, this one has a very nice and interesting twist to it. It is a little known fact that our South African cousins are very adapt in making some fabulous individual cars to a very high standard and this of one of those. This started life as a Land Cruiser and visibly it still is, however, the vendor has told us some interesting facts about it. He believes it has been made approximately a foot shorter than standard, is running a Chevy V8 engine and has a short side exhaust, which sounds amazing.
When you first look at the Land Cruiser, you see a Toyota, but look closer and then you see different things. The side exhaust, slightly shorter, sitting on a beautiful set of black alloy wheels which are shod in new looking Conqueror NK Sport tyres, a refurbished load bed with a cover, chequer plate panels, front spot lights and a lot more. Go inside the cab and you see a detailed and unique interior, not too far off standard but just enough to make you know its pleasantly different, but in great condition and very detailed. Then there’s the engine bay, with that fabulous burbling V8 sitting in a very clean and detailed engine bay. The engine itself looks amazing finished in blue with dollops of chrome here and there. You look underneath and see new suspension parts and brakes, again all very clean and tidy and detailed. Finally there is the noise it makes, which we may have already mentioned, but it is important!
The Toyota is complete with a V5 and is registered correctly showing the 5. 7-litre engine. It comes with some paperwork showing details of an electric fan fitted, a lovely invoice from South Africa detailing the work in 2022 which shows a frightening amount of money spent - 81, 950 Rand, which equates to c.£3, 500 and is not an insignificant amount but that money gets you a whole lot more in South Africa than it does in the UK. You need to read the invoice, which shows all the work carried out including a service, suspension, lubricants, brakes, wiring, and the list goes on.
If you want a nice well sorted Toyota Land Cruiser from the 1970s that on first appearances is very nice and original, this may the one. If you want all this with a very unique twist, which in our opinion is fabulous, then this is definitely the one. We are sure you will never find another one in the UK, so come and view it and see what you think.
