A great sales success on both sides of the Atlantic, the TR3 provided a rather more visceral alternative to its MG and Jaguar competition. In essence, the TR3A is an improved version of the TR3 with a few aesthetic and technical upgrades, including the larger grille, electrical system, and more practical design changes. They include a large mouth grille, which was wider and more aggressive in appearance. It also had a new one-piece front bumper, replacing the earlier separate bumper design. A updated electrical system with a more reliable 12-volt system, as opposed to the earlier TR3 which used a 6-volt electrical system. This improved the performance of electrical components like the lights and starter motor. The TR3A introduced external door handles. While the suspension setup remained largely similar, the A had minor refinements to improve comfort and handling.

TR3s were campaigned in the RAC, Monte Carlo, Circuit of Ireland, Alpine, Liege-Rome-Liege, International Tulip, Scheveningen-Luxembourg, Tour de France, Douze Heures de Huy, Lyon-Charbonnieres, Acropolis, Chimay National, and Corsica rallies, among others, achieving numerous outright, team, and class victories including six “Coupes des Alpes” awards.

This “fast road use” TR3A is all set to be enjoyed and ready for any UK or European adventures or events you may wish to take on. Maintained regularly by JD Classics since 2006, this TR3A represents the very best in quality.
