Description
This 7th series Lancia Lambda is a great restoration proposition, rarely available in this sort of condition, chassis no. 16901 started life as Long chassis 7th series model built in 1927 according to factory records and first registered in the U. K. in 1928 and Road registered SN 3844.
Like many Lancia’s of this era, the car fell on hard times and after having been left outdoors for many years was taken on by the late Lancia enthusiast, Peter Gerrish who substantially rebuilt the car with a shortened chassis, to Zagato proportions, letters on file confirm the VSCC accepting the car as a Vintage Special.
By 1996 the car had returned to the road with limited coachwork as can be seen here, the intention being to use the car and finish at a later date, sadly this was never to happen and as old age crept up, the car was pushed to the back of the barn.
Now offered as found, chassis 16901 presents a wonderful opportunity, to restore a Lambda with coachwork of your choice , Cassaro or Zagato being just two thoughts.
The chassis has been substantially rebuilt and restored albeit some time ago, whilst the engine needs considerable work and is incomplete , the gearbox is complete and the car rolls and steers, with all braking components also intact, with a lovely original Lambda oil gauge to the dash, clear numbers to chassis and dash plates and various paperwork, this is a well priced Lambda that would provide great satisfaction to restore.
