We are delighted to offer to the market one of the finest Series 3 Land Rovers® we have seen in recent times. As the spec above shows, this Series 3 is fully loaded with all the extras one would ever want or need – read on below.

Externally, we really could go on all day about this truck – the Keswick Green colour scheme is stunning and with Limestone Wheels and Sand Canvas, we think you’d struggle to find a better looking Series 3. Everywhere you look, there are detailing touches both large and small to create this beautiful machine – the colour coded light surrounds, new bumper and canvas, refinished cappings, brand new 750 tyres to fill the arches, the black grab handles to contrast the galvanising at the rear, the “Land Rover” branded mudflaps – the list goes on and on – rather than filling this advert full of flowery superlatives… we trust our customer base will know what they’re looking at and appreciate it as we do.

The story is the same internally – a front set of new deluxe seats are fitted, with deluxe matting to the footwells and door cards for that premium feel. A seat belt bar means 3 point inertia belts like a modern car – very handy. A new cubby box with cupholders is fitted, which is both handy for keeping items out of sight or for a drive through! The rear houses twin bench seats, meaning seating for six people including the driver, with a load mat to the floor to protect against scratches. The other nice touch to mention is that high-quality and expensive fully rubberised front trim kit – which protects the bodywork from damage, allows muddy boots to be worn without concern and also provides an extra layer of sound deadening for a more relaxed experience when on the road.

As the spec suggests, this Series 3 has been subjected to a comprehensive rebuild in times past which was incredibly extensive in nature – with a new galvanised chassis, a galvanised bulkhead and even a galvanised front panel behind the grill where the radiator is mounted. This means that the mild steel components which are normally subject to rust concerns have all been future-proofed. In addition, there is evidence of many more thousands spent – recent parabolic springs with all new shocks – new brakes with new mintex brake shoes and new brake backing plates etc – all very nice to see. It is great to note that the paperwork contains an original Series 3 owners manual and the original order brochures for both a SWB and a Station Wagon – these would’ve been given to a prospective owner so they could figure out which variant they wished and what was included (photo supplied). These items alone have a significant financial value.

This means that when you fancy a drive – the experience is as enjoyable as possible in the period set up. The petrol engine is a joy and thanks to a Weber Carburettor, has more power than standard. 750 tyres give the best possible compromise between off and on road performance, as well as being self cleaning and extending the gearing. An overdrive means that when in the cruise, cabin noise can be significantly reduced too. This truck will go far faster than any owner would want to go – certainly any legal speed in the UK. Parabolic springs mean a better than expected ride, especially with new shocks – which will be appreciated whether heading to school over the speed bumps or over a field to meet the shoot! A new ignition system with coil, HT leads and distributor means as much “out of the box” reliability as possible. Thanks to seating for six, the whole family can come out wherever one plans to go – the beach, to the pub, to the woods with the bikes or down a greenlane on the North Yorkshire Moors!

In summary then, if you are looking for a Series Land Rover® that you can keep for life and pass down through a family, then this could be for you. The benefits of this 1983 Series 3 are huge – a significantly uprated driving experience from standard, stunning looks which turns heads whenever it goes, a huge amount of money spent to ensure longevity (and avoid any concerns of corrosion) AND it is also MOT & Tax Exempt, and benefits from Classic Insurance. It is just about the definition of having your cake and eating it.
