Provenance and Restoration
Built in September 1952, this XK120 was shipped to Hoffman’s of New York and owned by Mr. Grosskopf of Ohio for over 45 years. After his passing, it was passed to his son, Jim, and later made its way to the UK in 2005, where it underwent a full nut-and-bolt restoration. The restoration process, which includes a complete photographic record, focused on both visible and hidden details, ensuring the car’s integrity and longevity.
Restoration Highlights
Every element of this restoration is a work of art. Custom chrome headlamp rings with integrated mesh, polished rocker covers, and a custom aluminum steering column cover showcase the craftsmanship involved. The car also features modern upgrades like a 12-volt alternator, hidden radiator fan, and a stainless-steel exhaust that delivers a distinctive sound. The XK140 steering rack and XK150 calipers and discs provide superior handling and braking performance. The chrome wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein tyres, completing the look.
