Background:The Jaguar S-Type R was a high performance variation of the S-Type, designed to stand out with its dynamic styling and arguably overkill powertrain. Easily distinguishable to the trained eye by its 18" alloy wheels, wire mesh grille, deeper front and rear aprons, rear spoiler and ‘R’ badging, it combined luxury with a sporty edge, like turning a slipper into a running shoe.
The S-Type R was powered by Jaguar’s own 4. 2-litre AJ-8 V8 engine, enhanced with the addition of an Eaton supercharger, producing 400bhp. The rather brutish engine is paired with a 6-speed ZF 6HP26 automatic gearbox with Jaguar's J-gate for clutchless sequential shifting, delivering impressive performance, sprinting from 0-60mph in just 5. 3 seconds and reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
