We are very pleased to offer a real slice of the seventies with our stunning 1978 Austin Mini 1000. Finished in very period Pageant blue with the all important contrasting Stripey trim. We have known this Mini for a few years, in fact it was actually mine for a while so I am biased with this one as we have bonded. It is a full matching numbers example with its commission number and FE body number and it has lived a charmed life covering a genuine thirty nine thousand miles in 47 years. It is accompanied with one of the best history folders I have seen for any Car from this period, it includes its original handbook and its original Passport to service book. Registered new by Eyre brothers in Barnsley it has continuous history from the very first day, it even still has both of its original dealer number plates, key serial number tags, every MOT from 1982 a raft of service receipts and both its original sets of keys pointing to a cared for life. It has excellent provenance.
It is a real pleasure to drive a Classic Mini from this era that has been so well preserved. Seventies Minis offer the pure Mini driving experience and are also very useable on a daily basis. Ten inch wheels, centre binnacle and large steering wheel is all you need to get out on the open road and enjoy the way these cars make you smile. This example drives like it is just a few years old, the 998 engine is very healthy with strong oil pressure and the performance will surprise, the gearbox again, feels new and it just cannot be faulted out on the open road. The Mini benefits from some recent modern day upgrades such as Cooper S disc brakes with wider Cooper S wheels and Yokohama A-008 tyres, Hi-Lo adjustable suspension and electronic ignition,
The interior is very well presented with its original Stripey seats, matching door cards and the all important three clock binnacle. It has recently benefitted from a new quality carpet set and period Pioneer TS-X150 shelf speakers. Hidden under the dash is a Bluetooth receiver so you stream your own music without altering the look of the interior.
This Mini has a very well preserved bodyshell and does not appear to of had any previous repairs or panels. It has the correct vented sills, new rear subframe, untouched boot floor and well presented engine bay. The paintwork was refreshed by us and has settled nicely and absolutely gleams in the sun and gets lots of attention on the open road. This Mini could happily sit on any display stand or just you smile driving it and with this mileage is a very rare car and certainly a keeper.
We have fully serviced, checked, driven and tuned this little gem and it has a full MOT ready to be driven and enjoyed. It is also MOT and tax exempt.
