Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025 on Sunday the 16th of February, ExceL London, Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL.
The Cotton Motor Company was founded in Gloucester in 1918 and were famous for their pre-war 'diamond' shaped frames
Various engine manufacturers were used in their bikes including Blackburne, Villiers and JAP
Numerous TT wins and trials events established them as notable manufacturers of sports machines
In 1970, the Cotton factory moved from its original factory and the range was reduced to the 3-wheeled Cotton Sturdy and the successful Rotax-powered 250cc race bikes
Sourcing engine suppliers became difficult after the demise of Villiers, and the rise of Japanese competition in clubmans catagories saw Cotton cease production at the end of the 1970s
One of only 25 examples of the 250cc LCRS model built, and in good overall condition and running order
Complete with its original Marzocchi forks, Brembo brakes and original exhaust
No paperwork with this lot
