Formula Renault 2. 0 ERMOLLI FRE 97- chassis 018 Formula Renault is an international category in which many Formula 1 drivers have started their careers over the past 30 years (in 2015, 60% of the drivers in the Formula 1 World Championship came from this category). The car for sale is a 1997 model from the Italian manufacturer Ermolli.
In that year the regulations called for a Renault 2000 cc, 8-valve engine derived from the series with a power output of 165 hp, and a Hewland 5-speed H gearbox, type LD5 200 . This example is in impeccable condition, and mechanically, it is ready to race. (It was purchased by the current owner, a collector of historic racing cars, about 10 years ago, directly from Ing. Ermolli, who had it completely overhauled before handing it over to him.
In 10 years it has only been used in 2 tests at the Tazio Nuvolari racetrack in Cervesina. The engine is regularly started every now and then, and the braking system is in running order. It has the manufacturer's original documentation (technical data, and original page homologation dossier of the time.) Excellent future investment in proportion to the current price.
