Description
This MG is genuinely rust free. We originally sold this car around 10 years ago when it was in left hand drive format. It was an ex dry state California car, therefore has not suffered the uk climate. We registered it with dvla in 2014. Due to it being from California, the underside was and still is totally original, rust free, with all factory spot welds in place. At the time we coated the underside and cavities with clear waxoil.
We then sold the car and lost track of it until recently when we were offered it back after it had been through a couple of owners. It had by now being converted to right hand drive. It is still a very well presented car. It runs and drives without fault, the 1622cc engine maintaining good oil pressure and temperature. The twin Su carbs give it a bit extra performance.
It is fitted with radial tyres all round and front seats belts. A nice period set of tri bar headlamps have been fitted and fog/ spotlights. The mileage is showing just over 55000. Although dvla states it is a 1963 car, there is a letter within the file from the mg owners club stating the heritage certificate records that it was actually manufactured in 26th October 1962 and subsequently exported to the United States the following day.
The bodywork again is rust free. There is some micro blistering ( small pimples) in the paint, but this was present 10 years ago and has not worsened at all. It only notices when you are up close
There is a history file accompanying the car with all records of works carried out since it has been in the uk.
We will put 12 months mot on the car on completion of sale and delivery car be arranged anywhere in the uk after cleared funds. We can also accept debit card payments or bank transfer
This is a great opportunity to purchase a rust free farina and one of the more rare models as well.
Any inspection is welcome or we can provide pictures of any area of the car on request. Please contact us for further details or to arrange a viewing
