Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025 on Sunday the 16th of February, ExCeL London, Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL.
After years of winning multiple championships in the 125 and 250 classes, Aprilia entered the World Superbike Championship with their new 1000cc RSV Mille platform
Campaigned by Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga with some success in the early 2000s, the bike was a real force to be reckoned with
The RSV Mille SP (Sport Production) is a limited-run 'homologation' bike and was very different from the road bike on which it was based. Only 150 were built and this example is Number #142
It had a similar frame to the road bike but featured an adjustable headstock and swingarm pivot, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, and Brembo brakes
The engine was developed by Cosworth, and featured a shorter stroke with a larger bore, sand-cast casings, Cosworth heads and a bespoke 'shotgun-style' exhaust. Generating around 150bhp and wrapped in carbon bodywork, it's a real race bike for the road
Indicating 15, 168 miles, it has recently been treated to a sympathetic refresh by AP Workshops including fresh paintwork, new tyres, new suspension linkages, and fresh discs and will have a new MOT at the time of sale
Supplied with its current V5C, original handbook, some service history, and old MOT and tax information
