In many ways, the Silver Shadow represents a dramatic change in Rolls-Royce's design and marketing mentality. While their cars were increasingly owner-driven post-World War II, the Silver Shadow's vastly updated chassis and interior over the preceding Silver Cloud enticed plenty of wealthy buyers into showrooms - many of whom had no intention of being chauffeured. Whereas its predecessors and the much larger Phantom offered body-on-frame designs, the Silver Shadow utilized a unitary body and chassis.
In addition, the Silver Shadow introduced a fully independent hydro-pneumatic system based on Citroen's designs to reward its owners with exceptional driving dynamics and immense comfort. In total, approximately 30, 057 were built between 1965 and 1980, far more than any of its predecessors. Today, it is no wonder the Shadow (and its variants) are well regarded for their astounding comfort and world-class build quality. In particular, cars from the initial years are some of the most desirable, as they pair the cleaner chrome bumper styling with a dashboard featuring significantly more wood than the later center console models.
The gorgeous 1967 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Saloon featured here is finished in classic Dark British Racing Green Metallic over a Beige leather interior featuring magnificent Burl Walnut woodwork throughout. This exquisite motorcar was just traded to us from a meticulous collector and is now ready for its next caretaker. 1966 and 1967 are the only year Rolls-Royce fitted American-market Silver Shadows with rear picnic trays, making this the perfect model to add to any premier collection. Because of this Rolls-Royce's rarity and incredible condition, I personally believe the investment potential of this Silver Shadow will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the best!
