Description
The 1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 perfectly encapsulates the idea of "Britishness", through its blend of tradition, innovation, and elegance, delivering a driving experience that is as much about character as it is about capability.
I absolutely love these cars and have very fortunately owned a couple of later V8's but never an early DBS. Evidently there's lots of shared DNA but it's the design simplicity of these earlier cars that is so appealing; no massive scoops and arches here, nor huge tyres, just simply Towns' design in its original nakedness!
This superb example was originally ordered & delivered new in October 1971, they wisely chose the more desirable manual specification. Matching numbers assured plus pleasingly it retains its original ZF 5 speed manual box and registration number .
Further more, it remains as built in its attractive original factory colour of ‘Azzurro Blue’.... a full bare metal repaint was carried out in December 2018 by Andy Coxhead of the renowned 355 Ltd.
This formed part of a larger more extensive restoration that the car received between 2018-2021, which is properly documented in the history file along with the detailed and eye-watering expenditure!
Evidently there's a huge amount of information to impart, the history file certainly reassures one, giving as it does an enormous amount of detail. As hopefully the photographs demonstrate, the car stands up to scrutiny and is presented in superb condition.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this Aston Martin, it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on +44(0)the details below to arrange a viewing.
