In 1996, the Golf GTI was 20 years old (here you can see the fascinating story of this model that was born from an act of insubordination) and Volkswagen dedicated a special edition to it. It had 2. 0 115 hp engines and the two-litre 2. 0 16V 150 hp engine and – surprise! – a 1. 9 TDI 110 hp. The latter was the first diesel Golf GTI.
