Everyone loves a Grey Fergie, they just make you smile, easy to own, easy to maintain, easy to drive, this one comes with a working Ransome finger bar mower, a simple but very cost effective way to keep your paddocks topped this year, or you can just buy the great fun little tractor and leave the mower with us.
It’s a petrol TVO model, so two things, forget the TVO it’s not really a much of a cost saving mixing paraffin or fuel oil, just put simple straight no additive modern petrol in both tanks and use the smaller one as a reserve, secondly you are never going to use it enough to worry about the nominal extra cost compared to smelly complicated to start and noisy diesel models, poor a gallon of petrol in and go have some fun, it won’t use much more than a ride on mower anyway.
Starts very easily and runs well, will sit at a very low tick over speed so you can hardly hear it, see the video, the lift arms work well, smooth up and down, the PTO has a modern (standard) size adaptor and it selects and stops as it should, the clutch is smooth, plenty of bite and no judder and the brakes work good enough to stop and hold on a steep hill.
All four tyres have nearly new tread, the rears are in really good condition, one of the fronts is just showing age other is fine. No signs of engine block cracks or repairs, it’s just had new plug leads, new antifreeze, new rad cap and a new battery fitted, oil and water in the right places and the right colours.
Paint has been touched up here and there, no apparent rot in any panels ad its all fairly straight, just an honest old tractor, little badge missing from in front of the steering wheel so exact year unknown, not road registered.
We have been using it around the yard over the Xmas break, it very easy to just jump on and use, they are brilliant in tight spot and it was very helpful reorganising the machinery shed, it has a vibration rattle somewhere at a certain revving point, maybe the petrol tank, maybe the radiator cowl but its not got any worse or caused a problem whilst here so we’ve just ignored it.
The mower is all working nice and smooth, no vibrations or wobbles, again see the video, the blade is sharp, looks to be very little used and all the tips are in place, it’s very well oiled and greased up and the blade adjuster on the under side is working, not all seized up as normal, it retains its original makers plate on the frame. We have cut some pesky pop up reshes in and around the fields with it, we haven’t any grass available just now and as it’s so lite on the ground we ventured out where we would not go with the bigger tractor at this time of year.
If you don’t want the mower, it can be a bit cheaper but only a few hundred pounds and that also would mean it could go on the smaller truck so any required delivery would be cheaper. We have available a field roller and a link box that we could put with this tractor if you’re looking for a package ask for details and prices.
You could cut a lot of grass with this outfit for not a lot of money.

This is a dated classic farm tractor and cutting mower, it will require considerable amounts of common sense when used by a level headed operator, those looking for a safety manual and instructions please look elsewhere, it will NOT conform to any current regulations. To be perfectly transparent it will be sold as a collector’s item for display and show purposes only. Sorry to be a bore, it’s the world we now live in.
