Description
Rover Mini Cooper (2000): 2 Owners & 9, 000 Miles
Instantly recognised around the world the Rover Cooper represents the on-going evolution of the Alec Issigonis space cheating Mini. The later cars retained the spirit, exhaust note and go-kart driving experience from the 1960’s while adding fuel injection and slightly longer gears – these cars still broke the rules and straightened the bends!
Milestones marketed this remarkable Mini for the first owner earlier this year and Ian, the second owner and a regular customer, has enjoyed detailing the car to his own fastidious standard. However, he has now reluctantly decided to sell the car to make way for another project and we were absolutely delighted when he approached us to have the car back in our showroom to sell.
History:
June Redhorn visited Caffyns PLC, Brighton on 10th February 2000 and ordered her new Mini Cooper saloon. The car was ordered in Anthracite (Black Metallic) to the sports pack specification with leather interior trim. It was one of the last Mini’s that Caffyns Brighton ever sold, and June was presented with a bouquet of flowers when she collected the car by way of a celebration.
During her custodianship the car was always loved and used sparingly with periods of time in storage depending on family and business commitments and today has covered less than 9, 000 miles from new.
Condition:
There is no question that this is one of the most original Mini’s that you could hope to own. The chassis/ bodywork of the car is remarkable - the original black metallic paintwork is outstanding reflecting light use and storage over the past 24 years.
The interior simply looks and smells like a two-year-old car.
Mechanically the Mini is just about run-in and drives very well – we all love that go-kart experience - and is absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The history folder contains the original order form, sales invoice, book pack, MOT’s, invoices etc.
This is a rare opportunity to own an unmolested, low mileage, two owner Mini and the adage “They are only original once” really does ring true with this remarkable little car.
Everyone should own a Mini once in their life and this example needs to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated.
