Description
Superb and rare Neckar 1200S St Trop' The Neckar St Trop was a sporty cabriolet and coupé model presented at the Turin Motor Show in November 1963 by the Italian manufacturer OSI under the name OSI 1200. It was the first car to be marketed under the OSI brand. Previously, all models, even those assembled in the OSI body workshops, bore the logo of the sponsoring brand, mostly Innocenti or Fiat. The model presented in 1963 was the spyder version. The bodywork was designed by Giovanni Michelotti.
The management of Fiat Neckar was won over by these two versions. At the time, no manufacturer in Germany offered a model of this type. Neckar got Fiat to allow these models to be marketed in Germany under its own brand. The spyder version was quite successful. The cars were imported directly from Italy, and Neckar added a simple chrome mesh to the radiator grille at the Heilbronn factory to fix the Neckar logo in place of the Fiat logo. Our example has been restored and is in perfect condition.
