The Formula 750 class was designed for modified production bikes and was dominated by "works" teams from many of the major manufacturers
In response, Yamaha managed to homologate a 'stretched out' version of their 2-stroke 350cc production racer
The Yamaha 750cc 4-cylinder engine made the bike a fearsome but ultimately competitive machine
The bike was that so powerful that some riders tried to ban it...
Yamaha's standard frames weren't always capable of handling the power, hence other frame makers like Cheshire-based Maxton stepped in
Forming part of a large private collection
This restored example is presented in very original condition
No frame number as these frames were not numbered by Maxton
The frame was built in 1977 and fitted with a TZ750D engine
Only 6 of these bikes were built by Ron Williams at Maxton and are highly collectable
Displayed for last few years so will require recommissioning before use
