Description
I bought the car early 2024 and serviced at a Bentley specialist workshop with repair bill of over £15, 000, where the brakes, hydraulics, carburettor and cooling system were repaired and four new tyres of the correct size were fitted. Now the car is TAX & MOT free.
The vehicle is in good mechanical condition, recently restored by a professional Bentley mechanic, the hydraulics and carburettor were dismantled and refurbished and are in good working order, the car starts on a dime every time and the engine has plenty of torque, the gearbox is very smooth on the road, only lagging when switching between forward and reverse gears. Note that the power windows are slow to go up and the rear driver's side window cannot be raised or lowered, and the central locking is disabled for this side of the door.
The vehicle is in completely original condition, with only the steering wheel replaced with a Moto-Lita wooden three-spoke steering wheel.
Also note that it is dirt inside the radiator, which needs to be flushed or replaced; the engine starts and runs normally, but the temperature sensor is out of order and does not directly know the engine's operating temperature, which needs to be replaced; the hydraulic system is currently working normally, but the pressure warning light is not working, which needs to be repaired. All four brake calipers on the front axle are brand new, but the rear axle has old brake calipers and discs, all of which function properly and have enough braking power to make replacement an option. This is a very original 1973 Bentley T1, the British Racing Green exterior with Tan leather interior makes this model, of which only 1, 711 were produced, even rarer. Very comfortable seats and suspension, plenty of room to be inside, and a large tailgate capacity for many occasions.
The interior of the vehicle is in very original condition with full leather seats showing obvious signs of age and use, but no tears or visible damage. The wood trim has a little whitening but is in good condition and has no visible damage. All interior lighting lights work as they should, the power seats work well, and the interior chrome pieces are all in very good condition. The seats in this car are very comfortable with plenty of room in all directions and even more comfortable in the back. Thanks to the then-advanced hydraulic suspension, the car is very smooth when cruising and has less cornering roll, and the interior is quiet and communicates properly at 70 mph!
The car is now stored in a roofed but draughty garage, comes with a car cover and has had six previous owners. The car, which has its original owner's manual and copies of all factory documents and two sets of keys, was previously stored with a private collector for thirteen years, during which time it gained very little mileage, and records show that the car has been used very little in almost 20 years.
