Description
The Morris Minor 1000 Convertible or 'Tourer' to give the car it's correct name, is simplicity on 4 wheels, a Classic car that is very appealing in every way, particularly when it drives so smoothly. Front engine and rear wheel drive remain a winning formula today and when combined with such small proportions works extremeley well on this 60 something year old car. Even the modest 55 bhp power output can push the Morris Minor Convertible to 70 mph quick enough to keep up with modern traffic.
The 1959 example we offer here is an original factory produced convertible not a saloon converted, as many on the classic car market are. The Convertible was subject to a nut an bolt rebuild over a 2 year period and has covered minimal mileage since being completed in October 2024. The rebuild was performed by a trained motor trade engineer and included a complete engine rebuild. Whilst the original car would have had a 948 cc engine, the car now sports an 1100cc unit, found in later models. Whilst the original upholstery was in such good order it was decided to retain all the original seats but the car does have a new hood. Finished if off white with red interior and new carpets.
