We are very pleased to offer a stunning 1997 Rover Mini Cooper Sportspack. Finished in the ever popular metallic Tahiti blue with a contrasting white roof, bonnet stripes and four spot lamps. This is a genuine factory Sportspack that has only covered 34 thousand miles in 27 years and has had just three previous owners. It is accompanied with a large and detailed service history folder stretching right back to day one. Registered new by Caffyns Rover in East Sussex, it has lived a charmed life and has excellent provenance including its original bill of sale, fully stamped service book and both sets of keys and fobs including the original Caffyns leather rings! The personalised number plate DCR 6W is also included with the Mini.
On the road this Cooper drives very well. The low mileage 1275 engine is smooth with impressive performance right through the rev range. The gearbox is taught and precise as you would expect and the handling is amazing thanks to it just having four new tyres, and a complete suspension and brake overhaul giving you complete confidence on the twisty stuff. A stainless steel exhaust also gives it the correct Cooper burble. This is an MPI Mini which stands for multi point fuel injection, to get out on the open road all you need to do is turn the key and go. Further features include a drivers airbag, side impact beams and an alarm and immobiliser. They also benefit form taller gearing making long distance cruising a breeze. MPi Minis offer all of the Classic Mini charm with modern practicality.
This Mini has a beautiful interior, a sign of a cared for life. The black leather seats are virtually unmarked as is the full length Walnut dash which has 6 magnolia dials. It also benefits from a Burr walnut interior upgrade, a popular option at the time, which included door caps and door furniture. The sound system has been upgraded to an Alpine system with an excellent sound and this model also has rear seat belts. The boot area has also been fully lined and carpeted and the engine bay is well presented and detailed.
This Cooper has a very solid shell and as you an see from the pictures the paintwork is absolutely gleaming and it belies its 27 year vintage. This Cooper has been very well cared for with fantastic provenance and will certainly make its lucky new owner smile out on the open road.
The Mini has been fully serviced, driven and checked and will be supplied with a full MOT.
