Description

History:
The Daytona for the family was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1971. Around 505 examples of this 2+2 seater were built in just under 2 years. Underestimated for a long time, the GTC/ 4 has been experiencing an above-average increase in value for some years now, pushing prices up to over CHF 400, 000 - and rising. The GTC/ 4 is often called "the best sounding Ferrari ever made". Its 340 hp 4. 4 litre V12 engine is not only powerful and a feast for the eyes, it also propels the beautiful coupé to a top speed of 260 km/ h. The bodywork was designed by Pinininto. The body was built by Pininfarina and finished at Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello. The 2+2 is considered by Ferrari connoisseurs to be the best-to-drive classic V12 Ferrari ever built. This example was first delivered in Switzerland in May 1972 and belonged to a prestigious car collection in Eastern Switzerland, where the 365 GTC/ 4 changed hands in the family 25 years ago. The unrestored example underwent an extensive refit in recent years, during which the engine, paintwork and interior were professionally overhauled, revised and restored.

Bodywork and paintwork:
The paintwork is in new condition after a professional and multi-layered preparation. The clean bodywork shows perfect gaps and has only two small pressure marks, which will of course be corrected. As this Ferrari has never been in sporting use, the entire underbody and chassis are also intact and completely free of injuries.

Interior:
The restored leather seats carry the famous Connolly scent and are refurbished to as new condition. The leather has no injuries, as do the panels, consoles and dashboard. Everything is presented in extremely well maintained condition. The power-window motors still operate at around 70% in speed and close cleanly. All operating functions are intact, the high-quality Becker radio is as good as new.

Engine and mechanics:
The technology was overhauled for over CHF 60'000, the engine was completely overhauled at Ferrari in 2022. The starting behaviour, the warm-up characteristics and the exhaust emission values meet the expectations of a 12-cylinder Ferrari. The gearbox and the rear axle work noiselessly, the gearstick is precise.

Chassis:
Chassis and brakes have been revised and tested on the test bench on the occasion of the last veteran inspection in May 2022. The original Cromodora alloy wheels are newly restored and painted. A brake inspection is freshly done at the time of purchase.

Driving experience:
A Gran Turismo par excellence. The 365 GTC/ 4 is just as suitable for strolling in the city as it is for long journeys to the most beautiful places in the world. This Ferrari is one of the most comfortable sports coupés of its time and impresses with its luxurious interior as well as its powerful 4. 4 litre V12 engine with 340 hp.

Recommendation:
The Ferrari 365 GTC/ 4 was little noticed until about 10 years ago, as it did not radiate enough sportiness in Ferraristi circles and no chrome bumpers adorned the end of the beautiful body. The 2+2 Ferrari, which was only produced 505 times, achieved much more fame in recent years as a result of the desire for valuable collector's cars, which is why a great deal of importance is again being attached to the preservation of the 365 GTC. With this example, the buyer not only receives a reliable, classic Ferrari, but at the same time a collectible vehicle that was allowed to spend its past in a very well-kept and professional environment.
