Vehicle history:
According to the new car invoice, this very beautiful T2 was delivered to the first owner, Ch. Schumacher (born 1920), on September 8, 1972, via the VW-Porsche dealer Josef Hoff from Siegburg. Numerous repair/ service invoices and MOT reports are available. At 97, 000 km, a replacement engine was installed on 08. 09. 1991 by the VW commercial vehicle company Steinbach & Schäfer in Bonn. The beautiful VW bus has been partially restored, repainted and is in an extremely authentic and perfect first-hand condition.
From August 1970, the engine power of the T2 was increased to 50 hp (37 kW). In addition, an oil cooler with separate air supply from the blower box was installed. In the old version, the oil cooler had obstructed the cooling air supply to the third cylinder at the front left, which could lead to overheating of this cylinder and serious engine damage (piston seizure and/ or demolition of the exhaust valve disk). The thermal relief improved the engine's stability when driving at full throttle on the highway.
