Description
One of our most popular collector’s models, the Series 3 Land Rover began production in 1972, this one being a 1979 MY. It retained much of the Series 2, with some “improvements” in various areas. Most noticeable was a new dashboard (known as the soft dash). This allowed for an uprated heater and twin speed wipers with auto-return, amongst other various switches and dials. Engines were largely similar, but the dynamo was replaced with an alternator. The gearbox received a synchro on 2nd to give easier changes.
A renovated Land Rover Series 3 that has enjoyed a near nut and bolt body off restoration by a dedicated, experienced individual from chassis, to engine, paint and windows. The pictures tell the story of restoration including new chassis and panels supported by extensive documentation.
The renovation has included:
• Full bodywork including cab, bulkhead and doors
• Galvanised chassis
• Poly-bushing and track rod ends
• Seatbelts
• Leaf springs, suspension and shock absorbers
• Seals through out
• Brakes and master cylinders, brake pipes
• Engine recon and injectors
• Lighting including Xenons
• Wheel bearings, wheel arches and tyres
• New interior
• Hard top roof with windows
A genuine example of this classic Land Rover that has been meticulously renovated with care and passion.
All Land Rover Series 3 vehicles are now regarded as British classics and hold a special place in the hearts of many, who appreciate their solidity and the idea that they can be maintained and repaired readily
