This 8-valve, 3-door Mk2, manufactured in 1988, has recorded less than 55, 000 miles, primarily attributed to its first owner.
Equipped with a 1. 8-litre naturally aspirated inline-four engine, it generates 110bhp, which is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
The second owner has undertaken significant restoration efforts to enhance the car's condition while preserving its originality.
An investment exceeding £10, 000 has been made for a comprehensive underbody restoration, revitalizing all running gear and incorporating a stainless steel exhaust. This restoration process involved the removal of key components such as the subframe, rear axle, and front cross member, which have either been replaced with genuine parts or restored through shot blasting and powder coating. Furthermore, all nuts and bolts have received zinc treatment, and every bush has been replaced. The braking system has been upgraded, and new Bilstein and Eibach suspension systems have been installed. The floor pan has been meticulously stripped of all concealing waxoyl, with any surface rust completely eradicated. It has been treated with Bilt Hamber 80 zinc primer and finished with two coats of high-quality matt black stone chip for enhanced protection and longevity.
We believe the paintwork to be largely original and it presents exceptionally well for its age. Maintaining originality allows the vehicle to retain its classic charm while benefiting from modern enhancements in performance and durability. The car is fitted with its original Le Castellet 15” wheels, which contribute to its overall aesthetic integrity.
The engine bay has been thoroughly cleaned and is now fitted with a new water pump, hoses, and other vital components. Additionally, the vehicle boasts a complete stainless steel classic exhaust system along with a newly installed manifold. All heat shields have been removed.
Accompanying the car is the original stamped service book and book pack. The car will be sold with a new MOT and service.
